Love wins! We believe that and believe in demonstrating God's unchanging love to all people. We do that in practical ways by serving and caring for people who struggle to break free of various hurts, hang-ups and habits.
One way we provide this kind of service and care is through our Celebrate Recovery program.
Celebrate Recovery (CR)
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical, balanced, Christ-centered recovery program, based on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Celebrate Recovery (CR) meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at Grace EC Church, 18 Kready Avenue in Millersville.
Each meeting begins with a light meal (6:30 pm), includes a large group teaching or testimony (7 - 8 pm), followed by a time of open sharing (8 - 9 pm).
Through 8 recovery principles, found in the teachings of Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount and Christ-centered 12-steps, CR meetings provide a process that allows us to be changed. We open the door by sharing our experiences, strengths, and hopes with one another, and we become willing to accept God's grace in solving our life problems.
In other words, by working the Christ-centered steps and applying their biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free of our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. And this freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger relationship with God and others.
